* Phil Humber and newcomer Blaine Hardy combined to hold the Sky Sox in check as Omaha earned at least a split of the series. Humber stranded 2 in the 1st and Jai Miller hit a 1-out RBI single before Marc Maddox hit a sac fly to make it 2-0. Omaha stranded 2 in the 3rd and the lead held into the 7th. Former Royal Travis Metcalf doubled to lead off the Sky Sox 8th and scored to cut the lead in half, but Blaine Hardy pitched a 1-2-3 9th for his 1st AAA appearance and save. Starter Brandon Durden allowed 2 ER over 6 IP to fall to 0-3. Metcalf and LF Jay Payton had 2 hits for Colorado Springs. Omaha is 22-21. Luis Mendoza starts game 3 for Omaha Wednesday. Pitcher Bryan Bullington is headed back to AAA as IF Wilson Betemit got called up to the bigs.

AA - NWA: off day

* The Naturals are 28-15. As shown, lefty Blaine Hardy got a deserved promotion to Omaha and Kelvin Villa got his walking papers from the organization. A 3-game set at the Frisco RoughRiders (25-19, AA Rangers) starts Wednesday as Aaron Crow takes the hill for NW Arkansas.

* The Rocks struck first but Frederick struck worse to take the game from Wilmington. Jamie Romak hit a 2-run double in the 1st but the Keys ripped 3 doubles in a 3-run 3rd. The Rocks left 2 in scoring position in the 5th and Manauris Baez served up a 2-run homer in the 6th to make it 5-2. Adrian Ortiz tripled and scored on a wild pitch in the 8th but he was the last Rock to reach base. Starter Oliver Drake allowed 2 runs (1 ER) over 7 IP to pick up his 1st win for the Keys. 1B Jacob Julius was 3-3 with a walk, 2 doubles (9), his 3rd homer and 2 RBI (17) and LF Kyle Hudson drove in 2 runs for the Keys. The Rocks are 21-25. John Lamb makes his 2nd High-A start in tomorrow's matinee finale.

A - Burlington: rainout

* The Bees and Clinton will play back to back double dips on Wednesday and Thursday after Tuesday's series opener was a washout.
