AA - NW Arkansas: Naturals 2, Midland 1 (NWA leads TLCS, 2-1)
1B Hosmer 1-2, BB, HBP, HR (6), 2 RBI (11), RS -- .290, bat woke up at exactly the right time
2B Giavotella 1-3, BB, K -- .370
CF D. Robinson 0-3, BB, RS -- .212
DH C. Robinson 0-4, 3 K -- .290
Lamb 6 2/3 IP, ER, 2 H, BB, 5 K, HRA, E -- 3.12 ERA, I'd say that's stepping up
Barrera 1 1/3 IP, 2 H -- W, 1-0, 3.00 ERA
Keating IP, 2 H, 2 K -- SV, 3, 3.00 ERA
* This one is gonna be hard to beat as the best of the series. Just when it appeared the offense had let John Lamb down after a good start, Eric Hosmer proved why his stock has skyrocketed this season for the organization. Both Lamb and Midland SP Ryan Edell had faced the minimum until the bottom of the 3rd when Lamb was helped by having a runner thrown out at the plate and the game stayed scoreless. NWA stranded 2 in the 4th and stranded 2 more in the 6th as Edell took a 1-hitter into the 7th. Oakland SS prospect Grant Green went deep off Lamb in the 6th to make it 1-0 RockHounds (I won't get into the fact that Green is playing in a meaningful AA series this year (mainly because he hasn't exactly knocked the cover off the ball in AA) while Aaron Crow didn't exactly dominate high-A ball this season.). Mickey Storey took over for Edell in the 8th and issued a 1-out walk to Derrick Robinson. After a Johnny Giavotella pop out, Hosmer took Storey out of the park for his 6th of the playoffs to make it 2-1 Naturals. Henry Barrera stranded 2 in the 8th and Patrick Keating stranded 2 in the 9th to get the Naturals a pivotal win. Will Smith should start game 4 as NW Arkansas needs 1 more win for a Texas League title.
