* Omaha sent Rosenblatt out on a winning note Thursday. Round Rock nicked Luke Hochevar for a run in the 1st but Mike Moustakas cranked his 15th AAA homer for a 2-run shot to make it 2-1 Royals before the inning was over. The Royals added runs in the 3rd on a Scott Thorman sac fly and run-scoring wild pitch. Edgar Osuna allowed a run in the 4th but Jarrod Dyson hit an RBI single that inning. They end the season with 4 at the Oklahoma City RedHawks (72-67, AAA Rangers) starting Friday. On a good note, the Royals would be leading any of the 3 other divisions in the PCL. On a bad note, not their own, tho. Luis Mendoza starts the opener with the RedHawks.

* The B-Royals went out with a bang in 2010, but unfortunately it was a lot of bangs by the Cardinal bats as Johnson City scored 10 in the 2nd en route to the easy trip to the Appy League Championship Series. The Cards scored 1 off Willian Avinazar in the 1st and then battered Avinazar and Claudio Bavera in the 2nd. Eight hits, 2 walks and a HBP later, it was 11-0. The Royals wasted a bases-loaded situation in the 3rd and Johnson City poured on 4 more runs in the 4th. Luis Piterson broke up the shutout with an RBI groundout in the 5th but Jake Ramsey gave up a 2-run homer in the bottom of the inning.
