* The new Royals Midwest League affiliate pieced together four 1-run innings to defeat the former Royals Midwest League affiliate in the first meeting with their old selves. Things didn't start favorably for the Cougars as Sugar Ray Marimon gave up a 2-run double in the 1st. Brian Fletcher cut the lead in half with an RBI single in the 1st and a run-scoring Bees error in the 3rd tied the game. Marimon never cruised, exactly, but he wasn't really challenged after the 1st. Travis Jones broke the tie with an RBI single in the 6th, but Lane Adams was nailed at the plate on the play. Dusty Odenbach couldn't hold the lead as the Bees scored a run on 3 hits in the top of the 7th to tie it. Ryan Stovall put the Cougs back up with an RBI single in the 8th. The Cougs looked a little shaky in the 9th with 2 2-out errors but Chase Boruff got the final out for his 2nd 2011 win. Three Bees had 2 hits as DH Royce Consigli had 2 RBI (7). The Cougars are 5-7.
