* The best Omaha season in 21 years ended unfortunately Tuesday as the PCL champs couldn't keep the early momentum and the Clippers earned a second straight AAA Championship. Clippers SP Joe Martinez got off to a rough beginning as Lorenzo Cain ripped a 2-run triple and scored on a John Whittleman single to give Omaha a 3-0 lead. The Chasers stranded 2 in the 2nd and Sean O'Sullivan gave up a 2-out 3-run homer to C Luke Carlin to tie it in the bottom of the inning. Columbus scratched out 3 more runs in the 3rd and, after Willy Lebron took over in the 4th, another RBI single made it 7-3 Clippers. Omaha stranded 2 in both the 5th and 8th. Kelvin Herrera served up a solo homer to 1B Beau Mills in the 8th and the Chasers stranded 2 more in the 9th. Martinez went 7 innings before Chen Lee pitched the final 2 scoreless frames. 1B Clint Robinson didn't play in the game because of a sports hernia.
That's another season in the books, my sixth full season working up the reports. If you're reading it for the first time or the 500th time, thanks.

I don't tend to comment on blogs, but I just wanted to let you know I read The Pipeline EVERY day. I really appreciate the 1-stop-shopping you provide for minor league info. Thanks!
Me too! I never comment really but I frequent the site and REALLY appreciate your effort. :)
