AAA -- Omaha: Oklahoma 11, O-Royals 3
2B Aviles 2-4, K, E (13) -- .310
C Phillips 1-4, 2B (2), RBI (5), RS -- .202
3B Wathan 1-3, RBI (5) -- .235
RF McCarthy 0-4, RBI (8) -- .218
CF Maier 0-4 -- .282
1B Brazell 1-4 -- .324
LF Lubanski 1-3, K, OF assist at third -- .167
Buckner 5 IP, 5 R (4 ER), 6 H, 3 BB, 3 K, HRA -- L, 7-3, 4.14 ERA
Shiell 2 IP, 4 ER, 4 H, BB, 3 K, 2 HRA -- 5.09 ERA
DeHoyos 2 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 2 K -- 5.52 ERA
Last time they faced Mark Redman, the Royals torched him. Saturday, he got some measure of revenge with 7 decent IP as the RedHawks routed Omaha. It didn't help that Billy Buckner gave up 3 runs in the 1st on a walk, 3 hits and a Mike Aviles error and another run on a sac fly in the 3rd made it 4-0 Oklahoma. Bill McCarthy got Omaha on the board with an RBI ground out in the 4th but Buckner gave up a solo homer in the 5th to make it 5-1. Jason Shiell took over in the 6th and gave up 2 2-run homers in the 7th to heavily pad the RedHawks' lead. A Paul Phillips RBI double and Derek Wathan RBI single in the 8th made it a little closer but RP Gabe DeHoyos gave up a 2-run double in the 8th to account for the 11-3 final score. Oklahoma 1B Nate Gold was 3-5 with his 15th double, 11th homer and 3 RBI (57) to move to .300, LF Jason Botts was 2-5 with his 30th double, 8th homer and 59th RBI to move to .312 and Redman went 7 IP of 3 ER on 7 hits and 3 Ks to improve to 2-3 with a 5.70 ERA.
Omaha is 39-44 and 10 1/2 games back. The series continues this afternoon. Probable starters: Rangers top pitching prospect RH Eric Hurley (0-1, 7.20, crunched by Royals in first AAA start) vs. Omaha RH Leo Nunez (0-0, 1.50). After only 1 rehab game, Ross Gload was recalled as Ryan Shealy hit the DL for KC. That Affeldt-Bautista for Shealy trade looks like just a junk swap for KC.
AA -- Wichita: Wranglers 3, San Antonio 2
DH Kaaihue 1-4, 2 RBI (6), K -- .289
1B Stodolka 0-3, BB -- .276
2B Valentin 0-4, K -- .280
SS Falu 1-2, 2 S, 3B (5), RS -- .251
Hochevar 6 1/3 IP, ER, 6 H, 5 BB, 5 K, WP -- ND, 4.40 ERA, nice day on ERA, not so much on WHIP or K/BB ratio
Cedeno 0 IP, ER, H, BB -- 4.93 ERA
Plummer 2 2/3 IP, 2 H, 5 K -- BS, 3, W, 3-3, 2.87 ERA
The Missions didn't notch a run off Luke Hochevar until the 7th and an 8th inning run got the Wranglers the win in the opener with San Antonio. Hochevar stranded 2 in the 1st and 4th and a 2-out Missions error in the 5th allowed the Wranglers to score the first run of the game. After Hochevar stranded 2 more in the 6th, Irving Falu hit a 1-out triple in the 6th and a Kila Kaaihue force out brought him home to make it 2-0 Wichita. Hochevar left with a runner at third and 1 out in the 7th and Juan Cedeno gave up an RBI single and walk before getting pulled for Jarod Plummer. Plummer sandwiched 2 Ks around a game-tying single to escape the inning with at least a tie. Kaaihue stepped up in the 8th with Adam Greenberg on second and 2 outs and hit an RBI single to make it 3-2. Plummer stranded 1 in the 9th in getting his 3rd win. Missions LF Peter Ciofrone was 3-5 with his 29th RBI to move to .275, RF Will Venable was 2-4 with his 33rd RBI to move to .283 and RP Kyle Stutes took the loss with an IP of an ER on a hit, walk and K to drop to 0-1 with a 7.36 ERA.
Wichita is 4-5 and 2 1/2 games back. The series continues this afternoon. Probable starters: Missions righty Mike Ekstrom (3-4, 4.71) vs. Wranglers lefty Dan Christensen (1-8, 5.77).
A-Adv. -- Wilmington: Blue Rocks 5, Salem 3

2B Maddox 1-2, BB, SF, 3B (3), RBI (25), RS -- .263
CF Duarte 1-4, 3B (4), K, RS -- .293
3B Lisson 0-3, S, E (9) -- .268
DH McCann 0-2, 2 BB -- .250
Chambliss 5 IP, 3 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 4 K -- W, 1-0, 5.40 ERA, middling debut
Green 4 IP, H, K -- SV, 2, 5.34 ERA, second straight solid outing
Wilmington took the lead in the 5th and held on from there to take the opener versus Salem. Chris McConnell put the Blue Rocks ahead with a 2-run single in the 2nd but 2 Avalanche triples and a single off Tyler Chambliss in his A-Advanced debut tied it at 2 in the 3rd. Marc Maddox led off the Rocks 3rd with a triple and scored on a Wilver Perez double to make it 3-2 Wilmington. Chambliss stranded 2 in the 4th but gave up the game-tying run on 3 hits in the 5th. A 3-bagger did the trick again for the Rocks as Jose Duarte led off the Rocks 5th with a triple and scored on a Maddox sac fly to make it 4-3. Brett Bigler gave Wilmington some insurance with an RBI single in the 8th and RP Patrick Green retired the last 9 Salem batters in a row to end it. Salem SS Wladimir Sutil was 2-4 with his 6th error and 2 RBI (24) to move to .263, RF Orlando Rosales was 2-4 with his 9th double, 4th triple and 16th RBI to move to .267 and starter Brian Bogusevic took the loss with 6 IP of 4 ER on 7 hits, 3 walks and 2 Ks to drop to 6-6 with a 3.49 ERA. I guess two controversial calls in the game led to the ejection of manager John Mizerock in the 5th and Mizerock unearthed each of the three bases in his tirade before laying first base at the feet of the umpire who made both calls. Both calls involved Wilver Perez, who was ruled to not have tagged up on a play that wiped out a run in the 3rd and also was thrown out at third in the 5th to wipe out another run.
Wilmington is 7-3 and tied for first. The second game of the set is underway. Starters are Wilmington righty Blake Johnson (4-6, 4.38) and Salem ace righty Brad James (8-1, 1.98).
A -- Burlington: Peoria 2, Bees 0
CF Robinson 1-3, BB -- .265

Teaford 6 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 2 BB, WP -- L, 3-8, 5.31 ERA, no run support
Hartsock 1 1/3 IP, H -- 2.61 ERA
The Bees found the going rough against Chiefs starter Marco Carrillo in managing only 3 hits in a shutout loss. Starter Everett Teaford gave up a run on 2 hits in the 1st and another run on 2 hits, a walk, a wild pitch and Kurt Mertins error in the 2nd to spot the Chiefs a 2-0 lead. Carrillo retired 14 of 15 through the middle innings and Burlington could never string together a rally. RP Jayson Ruhlman got the last 5 outs for his 5th save. Chiefs 3B Josh Lansford was 1-4 with his 39th RBI to move to .292 and Carrillo got the win with 7 1/3 IP of 3 hits, a walk and 2 Ks to improve to 2-3 with a 4.48 ERA.
Burlington is 6-4 and in a 3-way tie for first. The series continues this afternoon. Probable starters: Bees RH Jason Godin (1-1, 1.84) returns to start vs. Chiefs RH Robert Hernandez (3-2, 4.15). SP Matt Kniginyzky has joined the Bees after a couple tune-up starts in rookie ball.

Jensen 2/3 IP, 3 ER, 2 H, 4 BB -- L, 0-1, 7.36 ERA
Hughes 3 1/3 IP, 4 ER, 6 H, BB -- 6.00 ERA
Orem left Idaho Falls in the dust midway through in taking 2 of 3 in the series. Neither team got on track until Orem scored 2 in the 4th on 3 hits and a sac fly off starter John Leonard. The Chukars came back with 2 in the 5th on a 2-run double by Anthony Seratelli but Matt Jensen came in to pitch the 5th and didn't survive it. He allowed 3 runs on 2 hits, 4 walks and a sac fly and Joe Hughes got the final out of the frame. Rubi Koko hit an RBI ground out in the 7th but Orem scored 4 in the 8th on 5 hits off Hughes to make it 9-3. Seratelli singled in a run with 2 out in the 9th but that was it. Orem 1B Gordon Gronkowki continued his fine play with a 3-5 night with 2 doubles (4) and 4 RBI (17) to move to .471, 3B Jay Brossman was 3-4 with his 6th RBI and 3 RS to move to .328 and SP Vladimir Veras got the win with 6 IP of 2 ER on 3 hits, a walk and 3 Ks to move to 2-0 with a 4.80 ERA.
The Chukars are 9-3 and 2 games up on first. They start a 3-game set at the Ogden Raptors (7-5, Rookie Dodgers) today. No announced starters on the team site. The Twins didn't let up after the game resumed with a 2-0 lead Saturday. The Twins scored 1 run on 2 hits off SP Brian Gausman in the 1st and another run on a hit, 2 wild pitches, 2 walks and an Alwin Perez error in the 2nd. Alex Caldera took over for Gausman in the 3rd and, with 2 on and 1 out, the game was suspended until Saturday. That was the situation when Yensi Lopez took the mound to continue the 3rd Saturday and a wild pitch and single scored another run, although Wilson Tucker threw out a runner at the plate to end the inning. RP Ted Gjeldum gave up a 2-run homer in the 6th and combined with Bobby Hastry to give up 3 runs in the 8th to make it 8-0. The Royals were being shut out on 4 hits entering the 9th but scored twice on a wild pitch that scored Kyle Martin and a Jake Lane sac fly before the rally was killed. The Twins once again rolled past the B-Royals to sweep the 2-game set. Starter Eduardo Paulino gave up a solo homer in the 2nd but Burlington took the lead in the 4th with 2 runs on a 2-run double by Jose Santos to make it 2-1 B-Royals. The Royals left the bases full in the 5th and Paulino gave up a game-tying single before handing the ball to Jimmy Rollins, who allowed 3 more runs on a wild pitch, walk, 2-run Santos error and RBI single to make it 5-2 Twins. Three hits and a sac fly off Rollins in the 6th made it 7-2 and the Bees couldn't rally. De Los Santos was 2-4 with his 1st double and 2 RBI (11) to move to .333 for the Twins, C Rodolfo Palacios was 2-3 to move to .357 and starter Jose Castillo got the win with 5 IP of 2 ER on 4 hits, 3 walks and 3 Ks to move to 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA. An 8th inning rally got the Royals their 2nd win. A Fernando Cruz error allowed a run to score in the 1st off SP Matt Mitchell but David Wood hit an RBI double in the 1st to tie the game. Cruz atoned for his miscue with a sac fly in the 2nd to make it 2-1 Royals. Mitchell was pulled with 1 on and 1 out in the 4th and Mike Lehmann threw 3 wild pitches in the inning in allowing 3 runs to score to make it 4-2 Brew Crew. The Royals came back with 4 in their half of the inning on a Sean McCauley RBI double, Ian Craze RBI triple, a wild pitch that scored Craze and a solo homer by Dennis Donovan for his 1st longball.
