Lima's last stand???

Another night, another loss for KC as Bartolo Colon silenced the Royals' bats to the tune of 1 hit over 7 innings before the Royals got 3 off him in the 8th but it wasn't enough as KRod came in and shut KC down to help the Angels to a 5-3 win. Sweeney singled in the 1st and that was it for KC's anemic bats until the 8th when Emil Brown led off with a double and Ruben Gotay had a 2-run single followed later by a DeJesus double to score 3. Graffanino had the other hit for the Royals. Berroa, Stairs, Costa and Castillo had 0-fers tonight as Berroa is in danger of getting passed by John Buck for average, which isn't good. Jose Lima went 6 innings and gave up 4 runs on 10 hits with 0 Ks to keep his ERA up at 7.58 and Leo Nunez once again showed signs he could use some more minor league seasoning as he gave up a run over 2 innings to make his ERA 8.06. Not much else to report as the Royals fall to 26-53.

Sunday is Zack Greinke vs. Jarrod Washburn in the final game of the set. All the Royals can do is put each game behind them and move on to the next. Maybe they'll catch a break with the struggling Mariners coming to town Monday. Royals fans can only hope.
