* Four late runs turned around the game to an Isotopes win. Johnny Giavotella hit a sac fly in the 1st and Lucas May doubled in a run in the 2nd to make it 2-0 Storm Chasers. Kevin Pucetas allowed a run on 2 hits in the 2nd but that was all he allowed over 6 strong innings. Omaha stranded 2 in scoring position in the 5th. The lead held into the 7th, when Blaine Hardy gave up a leadoff homer to blow his 1st save and tie the game. Omaha left 2 in scoring position again in the 8th and it was Steven Shell's turn to get lit up as a 2-run double and RBI single made it 5-2 Albuquerque. May got doubled off first in the 9th and it hurt as David Lough followed with an RBI double before Eric Hosmer grounded out to end it. Omaha is 14-10. Game 2 is Tuesday. Danny Duffy was named PCL Pitcher of the Week for his lockdown start versus Iowa on April 28. He'll start Tuesday.

AA - NW Arkansas: rainout

* Mother Nature has been back on the attack as the series finale with Arkansas was a washout Monday. It will be made up June 10. A 4-game home set starts Tuesday with the Springfield Cardinals (9-14). Chris Dwyer will start.

* Tim Melville got battered by 11 Hillcat hits as Lynchburg ran away and hid with the victory Monday. The Hillcats notched a run in the 1st and 4 runs in the 2nd as the 'Cats rapped out 5 hits in the inning. He worked around 2 hits in the 3rd but gave up 2 more runs in the 4th to make it 7-0 Lynchburg. Manauris Baez allowed a run in the 5th and the Rocks never could figure out Lynchburg SP Chris Masters. It wasn't until he was pulled in the 8th that the Rocks got their run on a Whit Merrifield RBI single before leaving the bases full. Two doubles got the Hillcats some unneeded insurance in the 9th. Masters allowed only a hit and 3 walks with 9 Ks over 7 IP to improve to 3-0 with a 1.11 ERA. RF Keenan Wiley had 3 hits and 5 other Hillcats had 2 hits. LF L.V. Ware was one of 'em, and had his 1st homer and 3 RBI (4). Wilmington is 15-8. Justin Marks and Tyler Sample will piggyback game 2 on Tuesday. Ryan Eigsti was moved back to AA as Juan Graterol was activated from the DL.

* The Cougars outhit the Kernels but the Kernels "popped" for more runs, har har, to take Monday's game. KC stranded 2 in the 1st and the Kernels grabbed a 1-0 lead off Robert Penny in the 4th. Mitch Hodge came in for the 6th after a solid start from Penny and Cedar Rapids got a 3-run homer to make it 4-0. The Cougars left 2 in scoring position in the 7th and Chaz Byrne gave up a 2-run homer in the 8th to make it 6-0. The KC bats awoke in earnest with 2 out in the 9th as Yowill Espinal, Lane Adams and Gerard Hall hit RBI singles before the game came to an end on a Brian Fletcher forceout. Starter Brian Diemer allowed 3 hits with 5 K over 6 IP to improve to 3-1 with a 1.99 ERA for CR. Three Kernels had 2 hits. KC is 8-17. The Kernels go for the sweep Tuesday afternoon as Greg Billo (0-0, 2.45) starts.
