* It was another nightmare 9th for the Chasers as they once again couldn't put the 51s away. The 51s stranded 2 in the 1st and, after a rain delay, the Chasers got on the board first in the 2nd. Lorenzo Cain singled in a run and an error on a Paulo Orlando forceout scored 2 more runs to make it 3-0. Jeff Suppan stranded the bases loaded in the 3rd but Vegas crawled back in the game with 2 in the 5th on 3 hits and 2 walks. Suppan stranded the bases full in the 6th and Omaha slapped together another 3-run rally on an Irving Falu RBI double and 2-run Orlando double. Blake Johnson stranded 2 in the 7th but allowed a run to score on the 8th to make it 6-3. Johnson got 1 out in the 9th before Vegas went single, walk, RBI single, 2-run triple to tie it. Jesse Chavez came on and got a double play as Jarrod Dyson helped cut down a runner between third and home to end the inning. Chavez has since served up a 2-run homer to OF Travis Snider in the 10th. I'll report on any Omaha would-be comeback tomorrow.

* The Cougars and Snappers slugged it out for 3 innings, then Greg Billo took over to bring it home for KC. The Cougars wasted little time as Murray Watts hit a 2-out RBI single and Cheslor Cuthbert hit a 2-run homer in the 1st. Ryan Jenkins followed a Lane Adams double with an RBI single to make it 4-0 before the 1st ended. Yordano Ventura's second start of the season didn't go much different than his first, as Beloit got a 2-run double in the 1st to cut the lead in half. A Jake Kuebler double play ball got a run back for the Cougars in the 2nd, but Beloit matched the run in their half of the inning. Geulin Beltre hit an RBI forceout in the 3rd to make it 6-3, but Ventura continued to struggle as 2 doubles and a sac fly cut the lead to 6-5 after 3. Billo came on in the 4th and got a double play to escape a minor jam as Adams threw a runner out at second to end the inning. KC stranded 2 in both the 6th and 7th, and Billo only had one 1-2-3 inning, but a couple caught baserunners by Jenkins helped him secure the victory. DH Nate Roberts had 3 hits to improve to .352 and SS Andy Leer had 2 hits for Beloit. Kane County is 17-26. Jason Adam makes his second pro start in Sunday's game 3.
