* The Storm Chasers emerged triumphant in a slugfest with the Zephyrs. New Orleans tagged Jeff Suppan for 2 in the 1st and another run in the 2nd to make it 3-0. Lucas May turned it around with one swing of the bat in the 2nd as a grand slam (his 2nd homer of the season) and 2-run Mike Moustakas double made it 6-3 Omaha. Suppan held the lead for 5 batters as the Zephyrs scored 3 in the 3rd to tie it. An error gave Omaha the go-ahead run in the 3rd but New Orleans got a solo homer in the 4th to tie it once more. Moustakas led off the Chasers 5th with his 9th homer and Lance Zawadzki added a 2-out RBI single to make it 9-7. It was Mario Santiago's turn to blow the lead as the Zephyrs scored 3 in the 6th on 3 hits and a walk to take a 10-9 lead. May led off the 6th with his 3rd homer and 2nd of the game, Johnny Giavotella doubled in a run, David Lough cracked an RBI single and Clint Robinson socked a 2-run homer for his 12th of the season. Zawadzki polished it off with an RBI single in the 8th. Blake Johnson and Jesse Chavez actually retired some Zephyrs to salvage the 15-10 win. Six Zephyrs had multiple hits led by 3 hits from DH Chris Aguila, who hit his 7th homer. Marlins 3B prospect Matt Dominguez drove in 2 runs (9) and was 1-4 to improve to .209. Former Royal Ruben Gotay played first for the Zephyrs and is hitting .243. Omaha is 29-23. Vin Mazzaro pitches game 2 Wednesday.

AA - NW Arkansas: off day

* A 3-game home set with Frisco (26-24, AA Rangers) starts Wednesday. Buddy Baumann was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week for May 23-29. He picked up his 1st 2011 win over the week with 6 IP of 2 hits and 7 Ks with 0 BB. Bad news on the John Lamb front as the Royals have the lefty set to meet with a California doctor to be evaluated for possible Tommy John surgery.

* The Rocks outhit the Tribe, 3-2, but Justin Marks took a hard loss for Wilmington. The Rocks stranded 2 in the 1st and Marks took a no-hitter into the 7th. Unfortunately, the Rocks couldn't get him a run and a walk and RBI double cost him the no-hitter and the shutout. The Rocks had 1 more hit but could make nothing of it. Kinston SP Giovanni Soto K'd 10 over 6 scoreless to lower his ERA to 2.44 but took a ND. The Rocks are 28-22. Game 3 is Wednesday as Jake Odorizzi starts.

* The Cap'ns had an answer for everything the Cougars threw at them on Tuesday. Julio Aparicio hit an RBI double in the 1st and a run-scoring wild pitch made it 2-0 KC in the 2nd. KC stranded 2 in the 3rd and Leonel Santiago allowed a 2-run roundtripper in the bottom of the inning to tie it. Aparicio worked a leadoff walk in the 6th, advanced to third on 2 wild pitches, and scored on a Cheslor Cuthbert single to give the lead back to the Cougars. It didn't last as an RBI single and 3-run homer chased Santiago and made it 6-3 Lake County. Aparicio hit his 1st homer of the season in the 8th to cut the lead to 2, but the Captains put it away with 3 in the bottom of the inning off Santiago Garrido. C Alexander Lavisky was 2-4 for LC with 2 HR (6) and 5 RBI (21), RF Carlos Moncrief had 2 hits, including his 6th homer, and DH Alex Monsalve had 3 hits. KC is 23-29. The teams play a matinee Wednesday. Yordano Ventura will make the start.
