* A late Omaha comeback was not to be Monday. Rick Ankiel hit a solo homer in the 1st as he continues to round back into shape and Kurt Mertins doubled in a run to make it 2-0. Everett Teaford started in his AAA debut and allowed 2 runs in the 1st on 4 hits. Jordan Parraz led off the 2nd with his 4th homer of the season and Omaha led, 3-2. Albuquerque retied it in the 4th with a solo homer and then scored 5 in the 5th off Teaford and Matt Herges. Parraz went long in the 6th for a 2-run homer for his 5th of the season and 2nd of the game to cut it to 8-5. Kila Ka'aihue doubled in a run in the 6th to trim it to 2 and after Herges left the bases loaded in the 7th, Jai Miller went solo in the 8th for his 6th of the season to cut it to 8-7. Alex Gordon hit a 2-out double in the 9th but was stranded there. Isotopes SP Alberto Bastardo allowed 5 ER over 6 IP in his season debut for Albuquerque to get the win. Five 'Topes had 2 hits. Omaha is 33-29. Tuesday's starter hasn't been announced.

AA - NWA: rainout

* NWA and Tulsa will try to make up the game Tuesday as part of a double dip. Lefty Mike Montgomery will hopefully make a healthy return to the rotation in game 1. As shown, P Everett Teaford will get a shot at AAA with Montgomery's return. Didn't really show he's ready tho tonight.

A-Adv. - Wilmington: off day

* The Rocks are 29-34. A 3-gamer at the Salem Red Sox (37-27) starts Tuesday. Ivor Hodgson starts game 1.

* Four errors helped lead to 8 unearned runs as the Chiefs waylaid the Bees. Keaton Hayenga served up a 2-run homer in the 1st and then allowed a run on 2 hits in the 2nd as Peoria took a 3-0 lead. Deivy Batista singled in a run in the 2nd but Hayenga allowed another run in the 3rd to make it 4-1. Jose Bonilla cut it down to 1 with a 2-run triple in the 4th but the Chiefs put it away for good with a 4-run 5th as Fernando Cruz made a 2-run error. Sam Runion gave up a 2-out, 3-run triple in the 8th although all 3 runs were unearned thanks to some errors earlier in the frame. Joey Lewis hit a 2-run double in the 8th and Runion allowed another run in the 9th. SP Robert Whitenack allowed 3 ER over 6 IP to improve to 5-4. SS Hak-Ju Lee and 3B Matt Cerda had 3 hits and four other Chiefs had 2 hits. Cerda had 3 RBI (32) and 3 RS. The Bees are 20-44.
