* Oklahoma City came back in the 7th to get the win. Alex Gordon doubled in a run in the 3rd to put Omaha on top and Irving Falu singled in a run in the 6th to make it 2-0. Mendoza had pitched well but loaded the bases with 0 out in the 7th and walked in a run before Blaine Hardy allowed 2 inherited runners to score to lose the lead. Omaha left the bases full in the 7th and then did it again in the 9th. RP Zach Phillips got the win with an ER over 2 IP to move to 1-0. Starter Guillermo Moscoso allowed an ER over 3 1/3 IP. 3B Chris Davis and LF Hernan Iribarren had 2 hits for the RedHawks. Omaha is 29-25. OF Rick Ankiel and P John Parrish are set to rehab in Omaha soon. Gaby Hernandez starts game 2 Sunday.

* The Naturals dug a 5-run hole but jumped out of it with a 7-run 4th to help lead the way to the victory. Aaron Crow had another tough start as he didn't escape the 1st. The RockHounds churned out 5 runs before Everett Teaford finished the inning. Ernesto Mejia hit a sac fly in the 2nd but Midland scored 2 in the 4th off Patrick Keating in his AA debut. Mejia singled in a run to kickstart a rally in the 4th and Chris McConnell had a big day starting with a 3-run triple. He would score on a wild pitch before Mike Moustakas and Clint Robinson singled home runs to make it 8-7 NWA. Louis Coleman gave up a solo homer in the 6th to tie it but NW Arkansas scored 3 in the 7th on a run-scoring error, an Anthony Seratelli RBI triple and McConnell sac fly to make it 11-8. Midland scored a run in the 8th but the Rocks scored 3 in the 9th on another Midland error and a 2-run McConnell single. RP Justin Friend took the loss for the RockHounds with 6 runs (3 ER) over 1 2/3 IP. Starter Carlos Hernandez allowed 7 ER over 3 1/3 IP. Six RockHounds had multiple hits with CF Corey Brown and RF Val Majewski having 3 hits. Journeyman Majewski had 3 hits. NWA is 31-22 and still 3 1/2 games up on first.

* Alex Caldera returned to form and the Rocks got the win. Caldera worked around a leadoff triple in the 5th as both teams were scoreless into the middle innings. The Rocks surged ahead with 4 runs in the 5th on a 2-run Fernando Garcia single and a 2-run P-Nats error. Jamar Walton singled in a run in the 6th and Caldera allowed his only run in the 7th. Jamie Romak hit an RBI double in the 7th and the Rocks put the insurance to use as Potomac scored 3 in the 8th off James Thompson and Eric Basurto, who balked in 2 runs. Basurto settled down for a 1-2-3 9th for his 3rd save. Potomac SP Evan Bronson allowed 5 runs (4 ER) over 6 IP to fall to 1-4. Three Nationals had 2 hits. The Rocks are 26-31. John Lamb starts Sunday's series finale.

* The Bees were held to 3 hits as South Bend ripped up Nick Wooley. The horror started in the 3rd as the Silver Hawks ran up 7 runs off Wooley and then poured on 4 more in the 4th off Wooley and Ryan Dennick. The Bees' only run came in the 6th on a Deivy Batista RBI groundout. Mitch Hodge gave up 1 last run in the 8th. South Bend SP Brad Gemberling allowed an ER over 7 IP to move to 1-3. Five Silver Hawks had multiple hits with 3 having 3. LF Matt Helm had 3 hits and drove in 4 runs (9). The Bees are 19-38. The series wraps up Sunday afternoon.
