Scott Thorman and Lucas hit consecutive doubles as the Royals moved ahead, 4-3, in the 6th. Walks again were poison to Omaha in the 7th as Federico Castaneda issued 2 free passes with 2 outs and then allowed a game-tying single. Greg Holland came in and issued another walk before giving up the go-ahead single, although Alex Gordon kept the damage to 1 added run with an assist at the plate. Omaha didn't threaten to tie. Iowa RP Justin Berg pitched 2 scoreless frames to improve to 3-1. Starter Thomas Diamond allowed 4 ER over 6 IP. CF Sam Fuld was 4-4 with 2 RS. The rest of the Cubs had 3 hits. Omaha is 39-33 and in a 3-way tie for first. Phil Humber's 11 Ks was the first double-digit strikeout game for Omaha since July 2007, and that was 10 by Matt Wright. Norris stepped up in the 5th to single home a run and Eric Hosmer smoked a solo homer in the 6th for his 4th of the season to make it 2-0 Rocks.
