* The Nats made a late charge before faltering in 10. Aaron Crow gave up 2 runs on 3 hits and a sac fly as the Hooks took a 2-0 lead in the 1st. The Nats squandered a rally chance in the 5th off former Royal farmhand Tyler Lumsden and an RBI single was aided by a Paulo Orlando error in the bottom of the inning to make it 4-0 Hooks. Lumsden still has the magic working as he gave up 3 Natural runs in the 6th on a Clint Robinson sac fly, an Orlando RBI single and a run-scoring error. Derrick Robinson hit an RBI single to tie it in the 7th. Chris McConnell hit a 1-out triple in the 9th but got thrown out at home as Derrick Robinson tried to squeeze him home. Blake Johnson came on for the 10th and had 2 on with 2 out when Koby Clemens hit a walkoff single. RP Dan Meszaros pitched a scoreless 10th for the win to move to 3-1. Starter Felipe Paulino hurled 4 scoreless. CF Jack Shuck had 3 hits and two other Hooks had 2 hits. Clemens had 2 RBI (62). The Naturals are 13-5 and a 1/2 game out of first. They have Wednesday off.

CF Conner 1-3, S, 3B (2), K, RS -- .196
C Shin 1-4, K -- .273
LF J. Blanco 1-3, RS -- .184

E. Diaz 2/3 IP, 3 R (2 ER), H, 2 K, 2 WP -- 15.00 ERA
Yambati 4 1/3 IP, ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 6 K, E -- 4.35 ERA
Roualdes 2 IP, H, BB, K -- 0.73 ERA

* A 5-run rally has the Royals in front late. The Dodgers got started with 3 in the 1st off Eric Diaz and Robinson Yambati. Ysmelin Alcantara sparked a Royal rally with a leadoff homer in the 5th for his 3rd homer of the season, and a run-scoring error, Daniel Mateo RBI groundout, a Cheslor Cuthbert RBI double and Mike Antonio RBI single made it 5-3 Royals before the inning came to an end. The Dodgers got a run back off Yambati in the 5th but Mateo led off the 7th with his 1st homer of the season to give the Royals an insurance run. The conclusion will wait...
