My reporting of 2010 signees has lapsed -- you have probably seen some names pop up in the reports of late, led by 3rd rounder SS Mike Antonio, but 4th rounder LH Kevin Chapman, 9th rounder OF Whit Merrifield, 12th rounder RH Daniel Hernandez, 29th rounder C Alex Marquez, 31st rounder RH Parker Bangs, 41st rounder RH Matt Ridings and 49th rounder RH Jordan Propst have all inked their first pro deals with the Royals.

Omaha stranded 10.
G. Hernandez 6 2/3 IP, ER, 4 H, BB, 11 K, WP -- W, 7-5, 5.55 ERA, weird how he can have a start like this and then get torched other times
Coleman 1 1/3 IP, H, BB, K -- 3.86 ERA
Rupe IP, H, BB, 3 K -- SV, 4, 1.99 ERA
* Gaby Hernandez had a great start and Omaha took down the Sounds. Mike Moustakas' AAA debut didn't go that well as he had an O-fer, but the team got the win. He grounded out in his first AAA AB and a Kila Ka'aihue RBI groundout in the 4th got the Royals started. Ka'aihue took a bases-loaded walk in the 5th and then slapped an RBI double in the 7th as he was a one-man RBI machine for the Royals Thursday. Hernandez was pulled after 2 2-out doubles in the 7th to put an end to a stellar night. Louis Coleman and Josh Rupe finished the win. Omaha is 49-41. Hernandez started in place of Luis Mendoza. He'll start Friday instead. Devon Lowery and Mike Moustakas are the newest O-Royals.
AA - NW Arkansas: rainout

* The Rocks pounded out 10 runs on 10 hits in the game 1 win Thursday. The Rocks got all they needed with 6 runs in the 2nd on a Jamar Walton RBI groundout, a Rey Navarro RBI double, Fernando Garcia RBI single, a run-scoring error, a Christian Colon RBI single and a Nick Francis sac fly. Buddy Baumann's only misstep was an RBI triple in the 4th but the Keys gave the run back on an error in the 5th. Another error scored a run in the 6th and Eric Hosmer singled in a run before a Wil Myers sac fly finished the scoring. 2010 4th rounder lefty Kevin Chapman made his pro debut in the 7th and loaded the bases with 1 out before leaving them that way. Starter Ryan O'Shea took the loss for the Keys with 2 IP of 6 runs (4 ER) allowed to fall to 5-5. 2B L.J. Hoes had 2 hits.

Bowden IP, K -- SV, 8, 2.01 ERA
* John Lamb continued to tear up his second level of minor league ball this season as he dominated the Keys over 6 IP and helped the Rocks to a shutout and sweep of the twinbill. The fireworks came early as Wil Myers drilled a 2-out, 2-run triple in the 1st. Lamb had the rare 4K inning in the 2nd as a wild pitch third strike on out 3 was followed by the Keys' only hit of the game before another K squashed the tiny rally. Lamb retired the last 7 he faced and Barry Bowden pitched a perfect 7th for his 8th save. Keys SP Ryan Berry allowed 2 ER over 5 IP to drop to 2-1. SS Pedro Florimon Jr. had the Keys' only hit and stole a base too. The Rocks are 14-7 and 3 games up on first. Adrian Ortiz has left the team to play in the same tourney Irving Falu is. Danny Duffy has rejoined the squad and will start Saturday. Rene Oriental was also called up from Burlington. Jairo Cuevas pitched Friday's game 3 of the set.

Sirrett 3 IP, ER, 4 H, BB, 3 K, WP -- 5.70 ERA
Kelley 2 IP, 2 BB, K -- 4.50 ERA
* Starter Kirby Yates locked down the Bees as the Hot Rods evened the series. An early omen was a leadoff homer off Matt Mitchell in the 1st and the Rods added 2 in the 2nd with 1 in the 3rd. Rodolfo Encarnacion took over in the 4th and allowed 2 runs thanks in part to a Deivy Batista error. Onassis Sirrett allowed the final run in the 5th. Luis Del Rosario broke up the no-hitter in the 5th and the Bees stranded 2 in the 6th for their best shot. Yates K'd 6 over 7 IP to improve to 2-3. Five Rods had 2 hits. The Bees are 9-10. The series wraps Friday.

* Billings went on a tear from the 3rd thru the 8th to rip the Chukars. Jake Kuebler doubled in a run in the 1st but a 2-run Yowill Espinal error turned it around in the 3rd. The Mustangs scored multiple runs in four straight innings and then added 1 in the 7th and 2 in the 8th to take command. Geulin Beltre hit a 2-run homer for his 3rd of the season in the 4th and then added a sac fly in the 6th. Another run scored on an error in the 9th but the Chukars didn't sniff a huge rally. * The game was a slugfest for half the game and then pretty much all 'Stros in the second half. Anthony Howard hit a 2-run double in the 1st and an Alex McClure RBI groundout made it 3-0 Burlington. Action died down until the Astros 3rd when they scored 4 runs on 4 hits, 2 walks and a run-scoring balk by Mike Giovenco. Yunior Figueroa tied it with an RBI double in the 4th but Greeneville victimized Giovenco and Claudio Bavera for 3 runs in the bottom of the inning. Burlington again responded with 3 in the 5th on a 2-run Ryan Stovall single and a Gabe MacDougall RBI single that tied it at 7. The Royals had chances for more runs in the inning but couldn't make it happen. Bavera gave up a 3-run homer in the 6th as the Astros plated 4 to make it 11-7. The Royals left the bases full in the 7th and Justin Mazur allowed 2 runs in the 8th. MacDougall hit an RBI single in the 9th but that was all Burlington could manage. Brennon Martin allowed another Giants run in the 2nd. Mike Antonio tripled in a run in the 3rd and Henry Moreno hit an RBI groundout to make it 5-2 Royals.
