* In a seesaw game, Omaha ended up on the downswing in a 6-5 loss. The Zephyrs scored 2 in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th off Phil Humber and the Royals were being 1-hit by Rick VandenHurk with 2 out in the 6th. Alex Gordon doubled in a run and Kila Ka'aihue cranked a 2-run homer for his 16th of the season to tie the game. David Lough and Irving Falu hit RBI singles in the 7th to give Omaha a 5-3 lead but Matt Herges loaded the bases and gave up a 3-run double to DH Hector Luna to swing the lead back around. Omaha stranded 1 in the 9th. RP Jorge Sosa blew the lead with 2 ER in 1 IP but got the win to move to 5-1. VandenHurk worked 6 IP of 3 ER. RF Scott Cousins was 3-4 with 2 RS and 3 others had 2 hits. Omaha is 43-38. The Royals traded C Edwin Bellorin to Houston and called up C Manny Pina. Bellorin hit a whopping .162 with Omaha. Manauris Baez starts Monday.

* NWA kept Corpus Christi winless on the second half with the win Sunday. Paulo Orlando went solo for his 5th homer in the 2nd but NW Arkansas would leave the bases full. Clint Robinson followed with his 14th homer of the year for a solo shot in the 3rd to make it 2-0 Nats. Mario Santiago had a 1-hitter through 5 and the Nats tacked on 2 in the 5th on a Mike Moustakas RBI double and Orlando RBI single to make it 4-0. Anthony Seratelli took a bases loaded walk in the 7th and Patrick Keating came in with the bases loaded with Hooks and 0 out in the 8th. A 1-out double scored 2 but Keating limited the damage. Johnny Giavotella got a run back with an RBI single in the 8th but Keating allowed another run in the 9th before closing it out. Hooks SP Doug Arguello allowed 4 ER over 6 IP to fall to 7-4. 3B Jhon Florentino drove in 2 runs (30). NW Arkansas is 8-2. Chris Dwyer has been called up from Wilmington. He's slated to start Tuesday.

* The Rocks walloped the P-Nats and John Lamb had another exceptional start. The carnage started with 5 runs in the 1st on an Eric Hosmer 2-run homer (his 6th) and Salvador Perez hit a 3-run double. Hosmer came back up in the 2nd and smoked a solo homer for his 7th of the season and 2nd of the game. Nick Francis led off the 3rd with his 2nd homer of the season and Jarrod Dyson singled in a run before Christian Colon doubled him home to make it 9-0 Rocks. The Rocks left the bases loaded in the 4th but Francis took a bases-loaded walk in the 5th and a Perez RBI single was followed by a Rey Navarro sac fly to make it 12-0. Meanwhile, Lamb struck out the side in the 2nd, worked around 2 singles in the 4th and retired the last 7 he faced. Jamie Romak clubbed his 7th homer to lead off the 7th to finish off the NWA scoring. James Thompson allowed 4 runs in the 8th and stranded 2 in the 9th to finish it. P-Nats SP Marcos Frias allowed 6 ER over 2 IP to drop to 2-4. LF Robert Jacobsen and SS Jose Lozada had 2 hits for Potomac. The Rocks are 7-4. Hosmer was scratched from Saturday's lineup with flulike symptoms and left Sunday's game late. Former Royals farmhand Josh Johnson is now playing for Potomac. Tim Melville starts Monday.

* Dusty Odenbach carried the Bees to yet another win. Rene Oriental cranked a 2-run homer (his 6th) in the 2nd. Odenbach worked out of trouble in the 5th and the Bees added a run in the 7th as Carlo Testa scored while Oriental was getting picked off at first. Gerard Hall hit an RBI double in the 8th and a solo homer was the Bandits' only damage off Scott Kelley. Bandits SP Joe Kelly allowed 3 ER over 7 IP to drop to 3-6. The Bandits only had 3 hits. The Bees are 6-4.

* Idaho Falls struck for 7 early runs and made 'em stick for the win. Scott Alexander allowed a run on 4 hits in the 1st but the Chukars responded with 2 runs on a Jake Kuebler RBI single and Tim Ferguson RBI triple, tho Ferguson was thrown out at the plate on the play. Kevin David hit a 2-run single in the 2nd for his first 2 pro RBI and Cameron Monger tripled in 2 runs in the 3rd before scoring on a Malcom Culver single to make it 7-1 Chukars. Ogden scored 3 in the 6th off Alexander and Nick Graffeo but only got 1 more run on a sac fly in the 9th before Devon Lowery closed it out. Ogden SP Antonio Castillo allowed 7 runs (6 ER) over 3 IP to fall to 1-2. C Michael Pericht and 1B Blake Dean had 3 hits for the Raptors with 3 others having 2 hits. IF is 8-6 and in first place. Stovall led off the 9th with a single and Figueroa hit a 1-out walkoff double to end the game. RP David Gutierrez allowed an ER over 1 1/3 IP to take the loss and fall to 0-1. CF Oswaldo Arcia had 2 hits for the Twins. The B-Royals are 8-5.

* The Royals offense got shut down Sunday. Brian Anderson pitched a scoreless 1st. The Pads scored 2 in the 3rd off Yordano Ventura and then 3 off him in the 4th. The Royals only had 1 hit thru 5 and had a scoring chance in the 8th with 2 on and 2 out when a Daniel Mateo would-be single hit baserunner Cameron Conner. A Jin-Ho Shin single scored 2 runs in the 9th thanks in part to a Padres error but the Royals stranded 2. Pads SP Adam Schrader allowed only 2 hits and a walk over 6 IP to get his 1st win. RF Mykal Stokes had 3 hits and three others had 2 hits.
