The Redbirds committed 4 errors to help Omaha to an extra-inning win Sunday. Starter Tyler Lumsden walked the bases loaded with 1 out in the 2nd, then allowed 3 runs on 2 singles to give Memphis a 3-0 lead. Omaha didn't score until the 5th, when they notched a run on a Chris Lubanski RBI single but stranded 2 in the frame. Lumsden left with the bases loaded and none out in the Memphis 5th and Thad Markray got a K and double play to escape the jam. Omaha loaded the bases with 1 out in the 6th and a Matt Tupman sac fly cut the lead to 3-2 before the Royals stranded 2. That was the score when Memphis RP Brian Falkenborg came on to close it out in the 9th but Fernando Cortez hit a 2-out single, Mitch Maier walked and a Derek Wathan single plated 2 thanks to an error by Memphis RF Joe Mather. Neal Musser gave the save a try in the 9th but did the unthinkable by giving up a leadoff homer to 3B Jolbert Cabrera to tie the game and mark Musser's first earned run in Omaha this season. RP Roberto Giron stranded 2 in both the 10th and 11th and Omaha finally struck against RP Hugo Castellanos in the 12th on a bases-loaded walk by Ryan Shealy after a Castellanos error and a Tupman 2-run single that was aided by another Redbird error to make it 7-4. Giron gave up a solo homer in the bottom of the 12th but left a runner at second to notch his 1st win of the season. Redbirds CF Skip Schumaker was 2-5 with his 10th double and 2 RBI (22) to move to .299 and Castellanos took the loss with an IP of 3 UER on 2 hits and 2 walks to drop to 3-1 with a 2.82 ERA.

Starter Mike Connolly stranded 2 RoughRiders in the 3rd and the Wranglers tallied the first run of the game in the 4th on a Jeff Nettles RBI double. The Wranglers stranded 2, however, and Connolly got touched up for 3 runs in the Frisco 4th on a 2-run homer by Frisco RF John Mayberry and 2 2-out hits that scored another run. Wichita stranded 2 in the 5th and Kila Kaaihue led off the 6th with his 7th AA homer of the season to cut the lead to 3-2. Jarod Plummer stranded 2 in the 6th and Wichita got the game tied in the 8th on an Adam Donachie RBI single before stranding 2. Adam Greenberg tried to score from second on a Mike Stodolka single in the 9th but was thrown out at the plate as the Wranglers once again stranded 2. With 2 out and 2 on in the 11th, Padilla smacked a clutch 2-run double to make it 5-3 and Gabe DeHoyos sat down Frisco in order in the bottom of the inning for his 3rd win. A 2-run 3rd and some solid pitching were enough to get the Rocks 1 of 3 with the Keys with Sunday's win. Jeremy Cleveland threw out a runner at the plate to end the Keys 1st but the Keys struck in the 2nd on a solo homer off Blake Johnson to take a 1-0 lead. Wilmington rallied in the 3rd as Jose Duarte singled home a run and scored on a 2-out Brad McCann single to make it 2-1 Rocks. The game was actually nip-and-tuck from there as neither team could generate a rally and Russ Haltiwanger pitched a perfect 9th for his 5th save. Keys RF Brent Krause was 1-3 with his 4th homer and 13th RBI to move to .299 and SP David Hernandez took the loss with 6 IP of 2 ER on 5 hits, 2 walks and 7 Ks to drop to 6-10 with a 4.98 ERA.
