* Former Royal Billy Buckner dueled Bryan Bullington to a draw as the game came down to the bullpens. Reno stranded 2 in the 1st and Omaha scored 2 in the 2nd on a 2-run Buckner throwing error. The Aces got a run back in the 3rd and then tied it in the 5th. Omaha chased Buckner with 2 on and 1 out in the 8th but couldn't cash in as they stranded 2. Luis Mendoza took over for Omaha in the 8th and gave up 4 straight singles before getting pulled with 2 out, 2 runs in and the bases loaded. Greg Holland escaped the jam and Omaha stranded 1 in the 9th. Buckner allowed 2 unearned runs over 7 IP and RP Jordan Norberto got the win. LF Gerardo Parra and 3B Ryan Roberts, both of whom have spent time with the D-Backs this season, had 3 hits and an RBI for the Aces. Parra had an OF assist to double off Alex Gordon at first in the 6th. 2B Mark Hallberg also had 2 hits. Omaha is 15-16. Anthony Lerew starts Thursday's game 3. RP Blake Wood got called up to KC as RP Josh Rupe was DFA'd.

AA - NWA: off day

* The Naturals are 21-10 and have the best record in AA. They are 5 1/2 games up on first. Eduardo Paulino starts the first of 4 with the Springfield Cardinals (16-16) Thursday.

* A 6-run 2nd gave Wilmington enough run support for the win. Ivor Hodgson got a rude greeting from the Hillcats as Lynchburg posted 3 runs in the 1st. Adrian Ortiz walked and scored on a wild pitch in the 1st but the Rocks went wild in the 2nd as an error scored the first run, Rey Navarro hit an RBI forceout, Anthony Seratelli hit a 3-run double, and Jamar Walton hit an RBI single to make it 7-3. Hodgson stranded the bases full in the 3rd and was pulled for Harold Mozingo in the 4th. Navarro hit an RBI single in the 3rd and Mozingo gave up 2 runs in the 4th to cut it to 8-5. Mozingo stranded 2 in the 6th and Patrick Keating pitched 3 good innings to finish his 3rd save. Hillcats SP Curtis Partch allowed 7 runs (2 ER) over 1 2/3 IP to fall to 1-3. LF Kevyn Feiner had 2 hits for the 'Cats and 3B Alex Buchholz drove in 2 runs. The Rocks are 13-20. Chris Dwyer starts the series finale Thursday.

A - Burlington: rainout

* The Bees' finale with Cedar Rapids was a washout. No news on a makeup date that I can find. The Bees are 12-21. A 4-game home set with the Peoria Chiefs starts Thursday.
