* The game was postponed because of flight delays for the visiting New Orleans Zephyrs. It will be made up July 24. The series picks up Saturday.

* The Naturals recovered from Thursday's shellacking to end up with 3 of 4 from Springfield. Derrick Robinson led off the NWA 1st with a double and scored on a Mike Moustakas sac fly. Chris McConnell made a 2-out, 2-run error in the 4th but Jeff Howell hit a 2-out, 2-run double in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-2 Naturals. Clint Robinson hit a 2-out RBI single in the 5th and Paulino and Brandon Sisk nailed it down from there. Cards SP Gary Daley allowed 4 ER over 6 IP to drop to 2-3. RF Aaron Luna and 1B Curt Smith had 2 hits for the Cards. The Naturals are 18-9. A 4-game set at the last-place Tulsa Drillers (AA Rockies) starts Saturday.

* The Rocks' offensive funk continued and Ivor Hodgson took the tough loss as a result. The Rocks were down from the first Keys AB as LF Xavier Avery led off the Frederick 1st with his 1st homer of the season. Hodgson gave up another run in the 5th. The Rocks' best shot came in the 8th when they got two 2-out singles but Patrick Norris struck out looking. Starter Nathan Nery worked 7 2/3 IP of shutout ball to move to 2-2. Three Keys had 2 hits. The Rocks are 10-18 and on a 7-game skid. Chris Dwyer starts for the Bees Saturday.

* A 4-run 3rd was the key to the Bees' win over Beloit. Hilton Richardson gave the Bees a boost with a leadoff homer in the top of the 1st for his 3rd of the season. The Bees left the bases full in the 2nd and Beloit got it tied but had 2 runners thrown out trying to score on the same play in an odd turn of events. Joey Lewis hit an RBI double to help start a Bees rally in the 3rd and Juan Graterol hit an RBI single before a Fernando Cruz 2-run single made it 5-1. Matt Mitchell gave up a solo homer in the 4th but Adam Frost got the run back with interest with a 2-run double in the 5th. Rene Oriental hit an RBI single in the 6th and Beloit got 2 runs in the 7th off Mike Lehmann. Deivy Batista polished it off with a solo homer in the 9th and Rodolfo Encarnacion finished the game to get Mitchell his 1st win of the season. Beloit SP Miguel Munoz took the loss with 5 ER over 4 IP. Five Snappers had multiple hits led by a 4-4 day from SS James Beresford. The Bees are 11-18.
