* Omaha scored all its runs from the 7th on to sweep the Cubs. Anthony Lerew allowed a run in the 1st and it stayed 1-0 into the 7th as the Royals stranded 2 in the 5th. Former Rangers prospect SP Thomas Diamond seems to have gotten back on track with the I-Cubs as he pitched well before loading the bases with 1 out in the 7th to get pulled. Ed Lucas greeted RP Jeff Stevens with a game-tying sac fly but Lerew gave up a leadoff homer in the bottom of the inning to put Omaha back down. The Royals loaded the bases with 1 out in the 8th and David Lough turned the game around with a 2-run single and Jai Miller hit a sac fly to make it 4-2. Victor Marte came in for the 8th but gave up 2 runs to retie the game. Marc Maddox broke it open again with an RBI single in the 9th and Marte got through the 9th for his 2nd win. RP Blake Parker took the loss with 1 ER allowed over 1 2/3 IP. SS Darwin Barney was 3-4 to improve to .256. RF Brad Snyder drove in 2 runs (18). Omaha is 12-11 and 4 1/2 games out. After the game, SS Mike Aviles got called up and the Royals sent down 3B Alex Gordon. The Royals also sold the contract of RP Roman Colon to a Korean team. A 4-game set with the Oklahoma City Redhawks (AAA Rangers) starts Monday. Phil Humber starts the opener.

* The Naturals pounded the Travelers in the first of 2 today. Mike Moustakas provided all the offense NWA would need with a 3-run bomb in the 1st for his 4th of the season. Derrick Robinson tripled and scored on a Moustakas sac fly in the 3rd and Robinson hit an RBI single in the 4th to make it 5-0. Jeff Howell hit a 2-run double in the 5th and Tim Smith cranked a 3-run homer for his 1st for the organization. Howell took a bases-loaded walk in the 6th and Eduardo Paulino handed a 1-hitter to Louis Coleman in the bottom of the inning. Coleman lost the shutout in the bottom of the inning but closed out the game. Arkansas SP Manuel Flores took the loss with 8 ER allowed over 4 1/3 IP. 2B Ryan Mount had his 12th RBI.

* The Naturals put up some more offense and swept the doubleheader. Paulo Orlando hit a 2-out, 2-run triple in the 2nd and then threw a runner out at the plate to kill a Travs rally in the bottom of the inning. Manny Pina took a bases loaded walk in the 3rd and a 2-run Arkansas error was followed by a Kurt Mertins sac fly to make it 6-0 NW Arkansas. Edgar Osuna was nicked for 3 runs in the 3rd and then gave up another run in the 4th to cut the lead to 2. Brandon Sisk pitched well to finish off the win. Travs SP Jayson Miller took the loss with 2 IP of 4 runs (2 ER) allowed. 1B Abel Nieves and DH Paul McAnulty had 2 hits for Arkansas. The Nats are 13-8 and 2 games up on first.

* Ivor Hodgson and Harold Mozingo got the bum's rush from the Dash as Winston-Salem pulled even with the Rocks on the season. The Rocks scored 4 in the 1st on a Jamie Romak sac fly, a 2-run Salvador Perez double and a Ryan Wood RBI single, although Wood was thrown out trying to get to second on the play. Hodgson gave up 2 runs in the 2nd and then 3 runs in the 4th to give the Dash a 5-4 lead. Hodgson gave up a 2-run double before Harold Mozingo was brought in to give up a 3-run homer in the 5th as Winston-Salem pulled away to 10-4. Mozingo gave up 4 more runs in the 6th and by the time the Rocks' offense came around in the 7th, it was too little, too late. Fernando Garcia hit a sac fly, Patrick Norris hit an RBI groundout and an error scored another run to cut it to 14-7. That was it for Wilmington, though. Dash SP Charles Leesman got the win with 4 ER allowed over 5 IP. DH Ozzie Lewis led 6 Dash with multiple hits with a 5-6 game with 4 RS. CF Justin Greene had 3 hits and 6 RBI (22). Chris Dwyer starts the first of 4 with the Salem Red Sox Monday. SS Rey Navarro will join the Blue Rocks. The Rocks are 10-13.

* The Bees plated 4 in the 9th for the comeback win. The Bees struck first with 2 in the 3rd on a Hilton Richardson RBI triple and Gerard Hall sac fly. The Bees stranded 2 in the 6th and Matt Mitchell was cruising fairly well before the bottom of the 6th rolled around. A 2-run homer tied the game and a 2-out Ryan Stovall error scored the go-ahead run for Quad Cities. Richardson tied it with an RBI single in the 7th and Wil Myers ripped an RBI double to make it 4-3 Bees. An Adam Frost error helped fuel a 3-run Bandits 7th and it was 6-4 entering the 9th. Frost led off the 9th with his 1st homer of the season and the Bees loaded the bases before Joey Lewis tied it with an RBI single and a 2-run error gave the Bees the lead. Mitch Hodge came in with 2 on and 2 out in the 9th and closed it out for his 2nd save. RP Jason Novak picked up his 1st blown save and the loss with 4 runs (1 ER) allowed over an IP. No Bandit had more than a hit and 1B Matt Adams hit his 5th homer with 3 RBI (14). 2B Jason Stidham drove in 2 runs (11). The Bees are 9-15.
