* Keaton Hayenga had another poor start but actually exited with a 9-6 lead and the Bees would blow a 12-7 lead Monday. An error on a ball hit by J.D. Alfaro scored the Bees' first run in the 1st and Alfaro left the game after the play. Wisconsin plated 3 runs off Hayenga in the 1st but the Bees blistered starter Kyle Heckathorn in the 2nd for 6 runs on two run-scoring errors, a Gerard Hall sac fly, a Joey Lewis RBI groundout, and a 2-run Rene Oriental single. The Rattlers scored 2 in the 3rd to cut the lead to 1 but Oriental and Jose Bonilla hit RBI singles in the 4th to make it 9-5 Burlington. Hayenga gave up a solo homer in the 5th and Matt Mitchell allowed a run in the 6th as the lead shrank to 2 once more. Yet another run-scoring error got the Bees back on the board in the 7th and Lewis took a bases-loaded walk before Oriental hit a sac fly to make it 12-7. Rodolfo Encarnacion came on for the 7th and walked all 4 batters he faced to bring Sam Runion in. Runion allowed 4 more runs before the dust settled to tie it at 12. The inning went HBP, RBI double, RBI double, swinging K, RBI single + error, passed ball, walk, in comes Chad Blauer, 2-run single, RBI triple, fielder's choice at home, single, 2-run double, K looking. Jake Kuebler hit an RBI double in the 6th to spoil the shutout and Malcom Culver tagged his 1st homer of the season in the 7th. A double play ball cut it to 8-3 in the 8th but the momentum died there. Starter Carlos Frias allowed an ER over 5 1/3 IP with 7 K to improve to 2-2. Derek Rodriguez came through with an RBI single in the 5th and Alex McClure took a bases-loaded HBP in the 8th to cut it to 3-2, although the Royals left 'em loaded. Rodriguez led off the 9th with a single and Alex Llanos picked a nice time for his 1st triple of the season to tie the game. The Royals left 2 in scoring position. The Royals left the bases full again in the 10th and a balk came in handy in the 11th as it moved Gabe MacDougall to second and Anthony Howard had the walkoff single to end it. Toxic twins to BP brothers... ouch. I actually listened to that game and if you had too, you'd know that the scoring was very home town favorable and the errors that were scored hits were baffling the broadcasters on from both teams. This is not to excuse two very frustrated pitchers from responsibilities, but it's not quite as bad as your characterization makes it out to be.

So did you listen to both broadcasts, or just the Rocks' version? I just said they were the BP Brothers last night. 7 combined IP, 14 H, 10 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 3 WP. I've given Runion credit when he's pitched well, too bad that hasn't been that often. Hayenga has had 4 poor starts for every 1 solid one. 10 ER Monday is 10 ER.
