Tonight's 3-2 win by the Royals over the Dodgers offered the best of both worlds for baseball fans. Low scoring yet all the runs came by homer. David DeJesus knocked a ball into what I always thought were the fountains but I guess now are known as the "water spectacular." Can't they just be fountains? Do they have to have some "marketing" name? Anyway, this came after Hee Seop Choi homered off Runelvys in the top of the 1st. DeJesus' roundtripper was a 2-run shot in the bottom of the 1st but J.D. Drew tied it in the 3rd with his tater. Then came the big blow as Shane Costa hit his first major league homer in the 5th to make the difference. Runelvys handed the game to Affeldt in the 7th, who handed it to Burgos for the 8th (who struck out the side to work out of a jam -- very nice inning), who handed it to MacDougal for the 9th. MacDougal made a nice play on an attempted bunt for hit by Cesar Izturis and then got Choi to end it. Good win again. Costa was 3-3 for easily his best day as a major leaguer. Only 4 other Royals even had 1 hit. HEY! Berroa drew a walk and got on base 2 out of 4 PAs. He actually hit somewhat like a leadoff hitter is supposed to, for a change.
Tomorrow the "Bizarro Stopper" takes the mound in the form of Jose Lima. Nothing like a sentence to Lima Time to take the zest out of a good streak. Brad Penny takes the mound for LA. He has a 4.04 ERA so the Royals could get to him. We need to play all our hot bats to counteract Lima's bad mojo.

Yes, Lima indeed is Evil. Not just semi-evil, or quasi evil, or the Diet Coke of evil, but Dodgers/Yankees/White Sox Evil.
