* The Royals rallied in the 7th and got the 4-game sweep of the Rainiers. Omaha had 2 on with 0 out in the 1st but made nothing of it and Tacoma plated a run in the 2nd off Edgar Osuna. Osuna pitched well as he stranded the bases full in the 5th but he got no run support. Tim Collins stranded 2 in the 7th and Jarrod Dyson finally tied it with an RBI single in the bottom of the inning before David Lough hit the go-ahead sac fly. Omaha is 65-54. Mike Moustakas is day-to-day after fouling a ball off his foot Sunday. The Royals have Thursday off.

* The Naturals blitzed the 'Riders Wednesday. Everett Teaford stranded 2 in the 1st and got some run support with 3 in the 2nd on a 2-run Paulo Orlando homer (his 8th) and Derrick Robinson RBI single. Teaford left 'em loaded in the 4th and the Nats rapped out 4 runs in the 5th on a 2-run Clint Robinson double, Nick Van Stratten RBI double and Orlando RBI double that made it 7-0. Four more runs came in the 6th on a 2-run Eric Hosmer triple and 2-run Clint Robinson homer for his 22nd of the year. Blake Johnson took over the shutout in the 7th and gave up a leadoff homer but that was all the RoughRiders would get. The Naturals are 28-17. Game 2 is Thursday.

* Runs in the 7th and 8th got the Dash the win. The Rocks stranded 2 in the 1st. Winston-Salem rallied for 2 runs with 2 out in the 4th but the Rocks answered in the 5th on a Patrick Norris RBI single and Adrian Ortiz RBI single. The Dash scored the go-ahead run thanks in part to a Rocks error in the 7th and then scored another run off Jairo Cuevas in the 8th. The Rocks didn't threaten late. The Rocks are 24-22. Manauris Baez starts the series finale Thursday.

A - Burlington: Clinton 7, Bees 5

* It was all Bees late but it wasn't enough as the woes continued for Burlington. Elisaul Pimentel allowed a run in the 1st and then gave up 3 runs in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th. The Bees stranded 2 in the 4th and scored their first run in the 6th on a wild pitch and Clinton error. Whit Merrifield hit a sac fly in the 7th but Josh Worrell had a rough inning as Clinton scored 2 insurance runs. Deivy Batista hit an RBI single in the 8th and then Carlo Testa hit a 2-run homer in the 9th for his 11th of the season but the rally stopped there. The Bees are 15-26. Game 2 is Thursday.

* The Chukars got 4-hit Wednesday. Scott Alexander gave up a 2-run homer in the 4th and allowed another run in the 5th. IF was no-hit thru 4 and then stranded 2 in the 6th. Casper left the bases full in the 7th and the Chukars got another shot in the 9th by drawing 2 walks to start the inning but stranded 2. The Chukars are 2-9. The series wraps Thursday. IF ended up losing Tuesday's game, 12-4, to Casper. P Eric Cantrell has been sent to Arizona.

* The Royals offense woke up in the 6th and got the win. Ryan Stovall was thrown out trying to score an inside-the-park homer to end the Royals 1st and the Cards scored their run in the 2nd off Jonathon Keck. Luis Piterson turned it around in the 6th with a 2-run homer for his 5th of the season and Alex Llanos added a 2-run triple in the 6th. Yunior Figueroa singled in a run that inning as well to make it 5-1. Daniel Hernandez started the 8th and loaded the bases to make way for Chas Byrne, who struck out the side to pull the Houdini. The Royals are 23-26. A 3-game home set with the Bristol Sox (19-30, Sox as in White) starts Thursday. OF Brian Fletcher has a pulled muscle in his leg and is out for the season after 4 games in his first pro campaign.

Rookie - AZL: off day

* The Royals blew the 4-0 lead and lost, 5-4, to the Dodgers Tuesday. They are 19-21 and 3 games back of the Rangers.
