Royals on the Farm 8/18

All hail Rowdy Hardy, winner of the 2010 contest for best name in the minors on MiLB.com. The Royals have to take victories where they can get them. In other news, Omaha is holding a contest to choose a team name for next year when they move into the new stadium. I don't mind seeing the Royals name go to the wayside at AAA. If anything, hopefully they'll get rid of their God-awful logo that I can't stand to look at. It's just....generic looking or something.

Eric Hosmer hit a 1-out double in the 6th and scored on a Clint Robinson single before Manny Pina came through with a 2-out, 2-run double to tie the game. A passed ball scored the Nats' go-ahead run in the 7th. Patrick Keating supported starter Danny Duffy with 2 hitless innings for his 8th save. NWA is 31-20. Game 2 is Thursday.

Jose Bonilla tied it with a 2-run homer in the 5th for his 3rd of the season. Scott Kelley walked the bases full but left them that way in the 6th but didn't escape the same fate in the 7th as the Chiefs scored 3 runs after loading the bases. The Bees are 16-33.
