* Fresno has the edge in the late innings in game 1. Edgar Osuna gave up a 3-run homer in the 4th but David Lough hit a 2-run single in the 5th to close the gap. Omaha left the bases full, however, but Osuna gave up another run in the 5th. Federico Castaneda gave up a solo homer in the 8th and it sits at 5-2. Omaha is 68-55. The O-Royals ended up winning, 3-2, on Monday. Scott Thorman knocked in a run in the 8th and Tim Collins finally gave up his 1st AAA ER in the 9th but Josh Rupe finished it for his 10th save. Luis Mendoza starts game 2 Wednesday.

AA - NW Arkansas: off day

* A 3-game home set with the Frisco RoughRiders (23-27, AA Rangers) starts Wednesday. IF/DH Josh Fields will move his rehab to AA.

* Frederick came back to even the series at a game each. Buddy Baumann stranded the bases full in the 2nd and Ernesto Mejia pounded a 2-run shot in the 4th for his 4th for Wilmington. Jairo Cuevas entered in the 5th and allowed 3 runs on 3 hits, and after the Rocks left the bases full in the 6th, Cuevas allowed 2 more runs in the 7th. Joey Lewis led off the 9th with his 2nd homer for the Rocks but the Rocks left the bases full again to squander their last chance. The Rocks are 27-23. Aaron Crow pitches Wednesday's game 3.

A - Burlington: off day

* The Chukars overcame 4 errors to beat the Osprey. Nary a Chukar had reached base with 2 out in the 4th when a walk and double were followed by a 2-run Geulin Beltre double and Travis Jones RBI double. Chad Blauer finally faltered in the 5th to give up 3 runs before getting pulled for Brennon Martin, who followed with 4 stellar shutout innings. Murray Watts answered the call with a solo homer in the 6th for his 10th as a pro. Martin stranded 2 in the 8th and Edwin Carl came in to get the last out with 2 on in the 9th for his 2nd save. The Chukars are 4-13. Game 2 is Wednesday.

* Willian Avinazar was far from the top of his game and the Royals fell to Danville. Avinazar gave up a run in the 1st and the Braves rapped out 3 runs in the 2nd as Avinazar struggled. Ryan Jenkins doubled in a run in the 4th but the offense ground to a halt. Justin Mazur gave up a 2-run homer in the 8th and the Royals scratched out a run in the bottom of the inning on a double-play ball. J.J. Leaper gave up 2 runs in the 9th as Danville polished it off. The Royals are 25-30. They have Wednesday off.
