* Kinston slapped 11 on the Rocks and an 8th inning rally made the difference. Nick Van Stratten and Ryan Stovall hit RBI singles in the 1st but Justin Marks gave up 3 in the inning. Van Stratten hit a sac fly in the 2nd to tie it and Deivy Batista hit the go-ahead single in the 3rd. Marks held the lead for 2 batters as the Tribe tied it. A wild pitch and Batista squeeze bunt helped the Rocks take a 6-4 lead in the 5th and Kurt Mertins hit an RBI double in the 6th to make it 7-4. Marks gave up a solo homer in the 6th but Stovall singled in a run in the 8th to keep the lead at 3. Bryan Paukovits got the first 2 outs quickly in the 8th, but the third one was a toughie. South Bend scored a run in the 3rd and then Perez served up a 3-run homer in the 4th to make it 4-2 Hawks. The Cougars stranded 2 in the 7th but looked ready to rally in the 9th as an error on a Kevin David single scored a run and put the tying run at second (tho Orlando Calixte ran into a killer out at third on the play), but the next two batters went down to end it. Idaho Falls manager Brian Buchanan got ejected in the 4th (I guess there were two longballs down the left field line in the game called foul that the Chukars disputed) but Edul Escobar and Michael Liberto hit 2-out RBI doubles to make it 2-0 IF. Kellen Moen gave up a 2-run double in the bottom of the inning and then gave up another 2-run double in the 5th before getting pulled. Helena added 4 in the 6th off Robert Penny to make it 8-2. Pizziconi 1 1/3 IP, 2 K -- 7.27 ERA

* A 5-run Braves 7th was the key to a Danville win. Danville started with 2 in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd off Robinson Yambati. Murray Watts hit a 2-run double in the 3rd and Burlington tied it in the 5th on a run-scoring wild pitch. Tyler Graham took over in the 7th after 3 1/3 scoreless from Andrew Ferguson and things headed south. A solo homer, 3-run double and sac fly blew it open in Danville's favor. The last 7 Royals went down in order. Burlington is 12-20. A 3-game home set with the Elizabethton Twins (19-13) starts Sunday.

Rookie - AZL: The Royals have jumped on the D-Backs early in tonight's game. Report tomorrow.
