* The Express chugged over the Chasers on Monday. It was 5-0 Round Rock before Omaha got on the board on a Lorenzo Cain RBI single and Irving Falu took a bases-loaded walk in the 7th. Other than that it was a lot of offensive frustration for Omaha. Omaha is 55-47. A 4-game home set with the Albuquerque Isotopes (54-49, AAA Dodgers) starts Tuesday. Mike Montgomery is set to start game 1.

* The Naturals took down Cards top prospect starter Shelby Miller to deal him only his 2nd loss of the season. Jeremy Jeffress had the Nats down, 3-0, in the 2nd but Salvador Perez hit an RBI single in the 2nd and Wil Myers hit a 2-run triple in the 3rd to tie the game. An error scored the go-ahead run for NWA in the 6th and Perez singled in a run in the 7th to make it 5-3 Nats. Blaine Hardy gave up a solo homer in the 8th but got the next 4 outs to end it. NWA is 16-14 and a game up on first. A 3-game home set with the Tulsa Drillers (15-15, AA Rockies) starts Tuesday. No announced starter on the team site.

* Greg Billo had another good start to pick up his 8th win. Cheslor Cuthbert hit an RBI single in the 2nd, a run-scoring error in the 3rd made it 2-0, and Geulin Beltre hit a 2-run homer for his 3rd of the season in the 5th to make it 4-0 Cougars. Billo was perfect through 5. A homer and RBI double in the 8th spoiled his shutout. KC is 18-12. A 3-game home set with the Cedar Rapids Kernels (13-17, A Angels) starts Tuesday with Yordano Ventura starting.

* The Royals took an early 5-1 lead but had to get a walkoff hit to end it. Angel Baez allowed a solo homer in the 1st but the Royals got 4 runs in their half on a Murray Watts RBI single, a 2-run Kenny Swab double and Jared Dyer RBI single. Justin Trapp hit an RBI single in the 2nd to make it 5-1. Elizabethton tied it by the end of the 5th and it stayed tied at 5 until the 9th. The Royals loaded the bases with singles with 1 out in the 9th and Dyer came through with a walkoff hit to end it. Burlington is 14-20. The series ends Tuesday.

* The Padres were all over Cesar Ogando and Jorge Soto and routed the Royals Sunday. Adrian Morales hit an RBI single in the 1st but Ogando gave up 4 runs, and Soto and Brian Edelen gave up the next 6 in the 2nd and 3rd. Jerico Blanco hit an RBI double in the 5th and that was it for the Royals. They are 10-17 and play the Indians tonight.
