One-time Pipeline mainstay Mike Aviles is no longer a Royal, as he was shipped up to Boston (I hear bagpipes) for IF Yamaico Navarro and advanced-A RP Kendal Volz. Navarro will stay with KC and Volz will go to Wilmington. I think it was a good deal. Per the team site story, tho, that may be KC's only deadline trade. I was hoping they'd make room for Giavotella.

The Chasers drew 2 1-out walks in the 7th and a David Lough single scored a run on a RedHawk error. Rookie - Idaho Falls: Chukars 8, Ogden 4 (Fri.)
3B Threlkeld 3-4, 3B (2), 2 RBI (15), E (8) -- .265, it's a little Berman-y, but how about "My Life With the (Threlkeld) Cult" for a nickname, huh? Yeah, it references an industrial metal band, but it works.

Avinazar grooved one for a solo homer in the 2nd but the offense picked him up in the 3rd with 3 runs on a Richard Espy RBI single, Threlkeld RBI single and Runey Davis sac fly. Jonathan Dooley allowed the tying run in the 7th thanks in part to a Threlkeld error, but Chris Elder picked a fine time for his 1st pro homer as his 2-run shot and an Espy triple followed by a balk made it 7-4 Chukars. Tyler Chism tacked on an RBI single in the 8th and Spencer Patton stranded 2 in the 9th for his 1st pro save. IF is 16-21. The Chukars lead late again tonight.

Casey Edelbrock made his pro debut for the Royals in the 8th and three straight doubles gave the M's a foothold on the lead. When the dust settled, the Mariners had scored 5 runs and only an assist by Terrance Gore to throw out a runner at second ended the rally. The Royals made a torrid comeback in the 9th as Brian Gaylord hit an RBI forceout and Nick DelGuidice hit a 2-out, 3-run homer for his 4th as a pro. Travis Lane followed with a double but Jerrell Allen grounded out to end the game. The Royals are 12-20.
