* Mike Montgomery lost a win in a 7th inning New Orleans rally but Omaha recovered to get the win. Manny Pina picked off a runner at third to end the Zephyrs 2nd. Omaha loaded the bases with 0 out in the 3rd before Jarrod Dyson drew a walk and Johnny Giavotella and David Lough hit sac flies to make it 3-0. New Orleans scored a run in the 4th but Irving Falu hit an RBI single in the 6th to get the run back. Robinson Tejeda took over for Montgomery after a rain delay and had a rough 7th. A walk and 2 hit batsmen loaded the bases and a sac fly, RBI single and bases-loaded walk by Everett Teaford, fresh into the game, tied the game at 4. Omaha stranded the bases full in the 8th, but Dyson hit a 2-out single in the 9th, stole second and third, and scored on a wild pitch to give the lead back to Omaha. Jesse Chavez got a bunt 2-4-6 double play in the 9th to pick up his 10th save. Omaha is 48-39. A 4-game set at the Oklahoma City RedHawks (36-50, AAA Astros) starts Thursday. Sean O'Sullivan will make a rehab start.

* A 3-game set at the San Antonio Missions (9-3, AA Padres) starts Thursday. Jake Odorizzi will make his AA debut in the game. RP Patrick Keating has been activated from the DL as RP Heath Rollins has become the second Royals farmhand in a week to retire.

* Wilmington couldn't hold on to a 2-0 lead as Salem marched past the Rocks for the win. An error and Gerard Hall RBI single made it 2-0 in the 2nd. The Sox got on the board with a run in the 3rd off Justin Marks and Marks held the lead until the 6th, when a solo homer tied it. An RBI double in the 7th gave Salem the lead, and the Rocks left 2 on in both the 8th and 9th. The Rocks are 5-9. Game 2 is Thursday. Elisaul Pimentel is set to start.

* Kane County survived a 4-run Rattler 9th as Jake Kuebler had the game of his career thus far. Kuebler started his banner night with a solo homer in the 2nd for his 3rd of the season. Yowill Espinal led off the 3rd with his 3rd homer but the Rattlers got the run back in the 3rd. The Cougars added 4 in the 4th on a Julio Aparicio RBI single, run scoring wild pitch, Espinal sac fly and Angel Franco RBI single. Wisconsin left 'em loaded in the 5th but scratched out 2 in the 6th off Mitch Hodge. Brian Fletcher led off the 7th with his 7th homer and Kuebler hammered a 2-run homer for his 2nd of the game. Kuebler added a little more insurance with his 3rd homer of the game for a solo shot in the 9th. Chas Byrne gave up a 3-run homer before closing it out in the 9th for the 10-7 win. KC is 9-4. Leondy Perez pitches the Thursday matinee game 2.

* The Chukars climbed the mountain of a 7-run deficit on Tuesday and emerged victorious in the opener with Casper. The Ghosts took the lead off Jonathan Dooley in the 3rd but IF tied it in the bottom of the inning on a run-scoring balk. Dooley and Mike Giovenco got torched in the 5th for 7 runs as the Ghosts surged to an 8-1 lead. Idaho Falls started clawing the way out of it in the 7th as Tyler Chism hit an RBI single, Henry Moreno hit a 2-run double, Mark Threlkeld hit an RBI single and Runey Davis hit an RBI double to cut it to 8-6. Darian Sandford hit a 2-out RBI single in the 8th and Daniel Mateo picked a great time for his 1st homer of 2011 as the 2-run shot made it 9-8 Chukars. Cody Fassold stranded 2 in the 9th. IF is 8-8. Game 2 is tonight. IF is up, 3-1, in the middle innings.

* The Royals took advantage of 6 Rays errors to get the win on Wednesday. Matt Murray stranded the bases full in the 2nd and the Royals broke the ice on two run-scoring wild pitches in the 2nd. Princeton tied it with 2 runs in the 3rd, but Jorge Bonifacio hit a 2-run double that scored 3 runs thanks to an error on the play. Adrian Bringas singled in another run to make it 6-2. Murray gave up 2 solo homers in the 4th to cut it to 6-4, but the Royals scored 3 runs on 2 errors in the 7th to make it 9-4. Tyler Graham stranded the bases full in the 8th but pitched a perfect 9th to finish it. Burlington is 4-12. The series ends Thursday.

* The Royals blew a 9th inning lead but recovered in the bottom of the 9th. Nick DelGuidice slammed a 3-run homer (his 3rd) to spot the Royals a 3-0 lead in the 2nd, but the Reds scored 2 in the 3rd off Eric Diaz. Carlos Garcia tripled in a run in the 4th and DelGuidice hit an RBI double to make it 5-2. Humberto Arteaga hit an RBI double in the 7th and the Royals took a 6-2 lead into the 8th. Cole White allowed 2 runs in the 8th and Nathan Johnson gave up a 2-run homer in the 9th to blow the lead. Garcia drew a walk and DelGuidice singled to set up a Gabe Gray sac fly that ended it when the Royals got their turn. The Royals are 5-8. They have today off.
