* Omaha blew a tenuous lead in the 8th as the RedHawks took the series opener. Neither team had a baserunner until the bottom of the 4th, when OKC scored 3 runs on 3 hits off Sean O'Sullivan. A double play ball scored Omaha's first run in the 5th but 2 doubles made it 4-1 'Hawks in the bottom of the inning. Manny Pina led off the Omaha 6th with his 4th homer with David Lough and Clint Robinson adding RBI doubles and Mike Aviles hitting an RBI triple to make it 5-4. Jesse Chavez came in with 2 on and 1 out in the 8th and promptly served up a 3-run homer to 1B Robinson Cancel to flip the game around. The Chasers stranded 1 in the 9th. Omaha is 48-40. Johnny Giavotella was named June PCL Player of the Month. Jeff Suppan will start Friday's game 2.

* The Naturals scored at least 1 run in each inning from the 3rd thru the 8th to earn Jake Odorizzi his 1st AA win in his 1st AA start. Jeff Bianchi got thrown out at the plate to end the NWA 2nd and the Missions scored a run on 3 hits in their half of the inning. Wil Myers tied it with an RBI single in the 3rd and Derrick Robinson took a bases-loaded walk with a run-scoring wild pitch making it 3-1 in the 4th. Nick Francis doubled in a run and Salvador Perez singled in a run in the 5th and the Missions got a homer off Odorizzi in the 5th to cut it to 5-2. Jamie Romak led off the 6th with his 11th homer and Willy Lebron gave up 2 runs in the 6th to make it 6-3. Perez hit a 2-run double and scored on an error to make it 9-3. Bianchi singled in a run in the 8th and Patrick Keating allowed a run in the 9th before ending it. NWA is 5-8. Game 2 is Friday as Will Smith starts.

* Wilmington got more power out of John Whittleman as the Rocks defeated the Red Sox. Whittleman led off the 2nd with his 12th homer but Elisaul Pimentel allowed a run in the 3rd. Whittleman went deep again in the 4th for his 13th homer to make it 2-1 Whittleman. Nick Van Stratten cranked his 1st homer for the Rocks this season in the 6th to increase the lead to 3-1. The solo homer war continued as Salem got one in the 6th to cut it to 3-2. Carlo Testa hit an RBI single in the 8th and Jose Bonilla hit an RBI forceout in the 9th to make it 5-2 Rocks. The Rocks are 6-9. The series ends Friday as Mike Mariot starts. Tim Melville has been shuffled to the bullpen.

* A 4-0 lead in the 1st was the pinnacle of the game for Kane County as it was 11-1 Wisconsin thereafter. A run-scoring passed ball, Brian Fletcher RBI double, run-scoring error and run-scoring double play made it 4-0 Cougars in the 1st. Leondy Perez allowed 3 runs in the 2nd and KC stranded 2 in the 3rd. The Rattlers responded with 4 in the 3rd and then added 2 in the 5th as Perez failed to record a K in his 5 IP of work. The Rattlers added a run in the 7th but Kevin David hit an RBI single in the 8th. Wisconsin tacked on a run in the 8th and KC loaded the bases in the 9th but Fletcher hit into a game ending double play. Kane County is 9-5. Greg Billo will start the series finale on Friday.

* Casper put on a 9th inning rally to make a runaway Chukar win a little bit closer. IF stranded 2 in the 1st and Casper scored a run in the 2nd, but that was all Robert Penny would allow in a fine start. The Chukars scored 3 in the 3rd to grab the lead as Tyler Chism hit an RBI single, Richard Espy singled in a run and Mark Threlkeld did the same. Espy hit an RBI single in the 5th and 2 runs scored on an Edul Escobar single aided by a Casper error to make it 6-1 Chukars. Justin Fradejas hit an RBI double in the 8th for his 1st pro RBI and scored on a Ghosts error to make it 8-1. David Middendorf gave up a 2-run homer as part of a 3-run Casper 9th as the Ghosts cut it to 8-4. The Chukars are 9-8 as the series ends tonight. Casper is up, 5-3, in the 4th.

* The Royals scored 10 late runs to post consecutive wins for the first time this season. Murray Watts hit an RBI single and Jorge Bonifacio took a bases-loaded walk in the 1st to spot the Royals a 2-0 lead, but Mike Antonio was picked off at third to end the inning. The Rays tied it in the 2nd and took the lead in the 3rd off Robinson Yambati to make it 4-2 Princeton. Adrian Bringas hit his 1st pro homer to lead off the 4th and Antonio went solo in the 5th for his 3rd of the season in the 5th to retie the game. The Rays regained the lead off Justin Mitchell in the 6th but the Royals responded with 3 in their half on a Justin Trapp sac fly and 2-run Jose Rodriguez triple. Bonifacio hit an RBI double and scored on a wild pitch in the 7th to make it 9-5, then the Royals added 5 in the 8th on RBI singles by Antonio and Watts, a Bonifacio sac fly and 2-run Bringas homer for his 2nd of his career and the game. Princeton scored a run in the 9th but that was it. Burlington is 5-12. A 3-game home set with the Bristol (White) Sox (8-9) starts Friday.
