A Cheslor Cuthbert double-play ball scored the Cougars' first run in the 1st but Peoria got it tied off Leonel Santiago in the 4th. Orlando Calixte came up with the bases loaded and 2 out in the 6th and got a single with an error helping all 3 runs score to make it 4-1. Orem tied it in the 2nd but Runey Davis hit an RBI double in the IF 2nd for his first pro RBI. Jonathan Dooley walked in a run in the 3rd (walks were a problem throughout the game for IF) and gave up a solo homer in the 4th to make it 3-2 Owlz. Mike Liberto hit an RBI groundout in the bottom of the inning to tie it but Dooley gave up the go-ahead run before getting pulled in the 5th. Orem loaded the bases in the 7th off Gary Cuevas and got a 2-run single to increase the lead to 6-3. Idaho Falls didn't threaten again. The Chukars are 2-4. Robert Penny starts today's game 3.

The Owlz poured on 5 more runs in the 3rd on 5 hits off Penny, including 3 triples. Then they greeted Moen in the 5th with 4 hits and a walk, as he was pulled with 3 runs in, 1 out and the bases loaded. Mike Giovenco allowed 2 inherited runners to score before getting out of the jam. Darian Sandford broke the ice finally with an RBI single in the 5th, but the Chukars had too big a hole to dig out of. Tyler Chism and Sandford worked bases-loaded walks in the 9th but a miracle rally wasn't in the cards. Idaho Falls is 2-5. The series ends Monday as Brian Peacock makes the start.

* The Royals fell behind, 6-0, and a late push wasn't enough to overcome the Athletics. The A's plated 1 in the 1st and 3 in the 2nd as a 3-run homer made it 4-0. The A's added 2 in the 4th to chase Eric Diaz. Travis Lane hit a 2-run double in the 4th to get the Royals on the board. The A's got a run back in the 5th and Parker Bangs gave up a run in the 6th to make it 8-2 A's. Fernando Cruz allowed a run in the 8th but Nick DelGuidice hit his 1st pro homer to lead off the Royals 8th to cut it to 9-3. The A's got an insurance run in the 9th and it almost came into play as the Royals rallied in the 9th for a Jerrell Allen RBI double, run-scoring error and 2-run Carlos Garcia double. The surge stopped there, tho, as the A's pulled out the 10-7 win. The Royals are 2-3. They have today off.
