* Omaha made 2 early runs stand as Jeff Suppan held the Redbirds pretty much in check. Kila Ka'aihue hit a sac fly in the 1st to get Omaha started and Manny Pina went solo in the 2nd for his 3rd homer of the season to make it 2-0 Chasers. Memphis got a solo homer in the 5th to halve the lead, but that was all the Redbirds would get. Jesse Chavez stranded the tying run at third in the 7th for his 9th save.

* Omaha held a 2-0 lead but kissed it goodbye late as Memphis roared back to split the doubleheader. Sean O'Sullivan made the rehab start and stranded 2 in the 2nd. Paulo Orlando tripled and scored on an Irving Falu single in the 3rd and Mike Aviles singled in a run in the 5th. Robinson Tejeda came on for his second inning of work in the 6th and got roughed up as a 3-run homer and solo homer made it 4-2. Everett Teaford allowed a run in the 7th and Omaha didn't have an answer. Omaha is 42-37. The series ends Tuesday as Luis Mendoza starts.

* The Naturals' offense was nearly non-existent on Monday as Arkansas got a shutout win. Derrick Robinson singled and stole two bases in the 1st but got stranded at third. The Travs got to Will Smith quickly as they scored a run in the 1st, but Nick Van Stratten teamed up with Christian Colon to nail a runner at the plate to end the inning. Arkansas added a run in the 2nd. NWA stranded 2 in the 4th and Heath Rollins allowed a run in the 6th. The Naturals stranded 2 in the 9th. NWA is 1-5. The two-day Texas League all-star break begins tomorrow.

* Anemic offense was also the trend in Wilmington as the Rocks got shut down by Keys SP Oliver Drake. Both teams stranded 2 in the 1st, but Frederick scored in the 2nd on 2 hits. Drake scattered 2 hits before retiring the last 11 Rocks. Bryan Paukovits gave up a leadoff homer in the 8th for the Keys' other run. Drake K'd 6 while going the distance. Wilmington is 2-3. The series ends Tuesday. Tim Melville is set to start.

* Leondy Perez pitched well and the Cougars kept it rolling with a win over the Bees. Perez stranded 2 in the 1st and the Cougars scored 2 in the 2nd on an error and an Angel Franco RBI single, although Geulin Beltre got thrown out at the plate to end the inning on the play. A Cougars error helped the Bees score a run in the 4th but Brian Fletcher went deep in the 5th for his 6th homer of the season. Franco added an RBI single in the 9th and Jon Keck stranded 2 in the 9th for his 1st save. Kane County is 4-0. Game 2 is Tuesday as Greg Billo is supposed to start.

* Pulaski kept the Royals in search of their first win as they stymied a late rally. The Mariners got a 2-out, 2-run single in the 3rd, and a Cameron Conner caught-stealing at home cost the Royals as Justin Trapp followed with an RBI double. The M's got a solo homer in the 5th to make it 3-1 and a leadoff homer in the 6th off Andrew Ferguson made it 4-1. The Royals stranded 2 in the 6th and 7th. Jovan Pickett hit a 2-out RBI triple in the 9th and walks loaded the bases before Murray Watts struck out swinging to end the game. Burlington is 0-7. Game 2 is Tuesday, and there's no announced starter yet on the team site.
