Royals on the Farm 8/4

Sorry about the unannounced absence of yesterday....took a trip to see My Morning Jacket live at the Uptown in KC. Definitely a must-see if you get the chance...quite a few songs were even better live than on the album. All I had to pay was the ticket price and most of the day being partially deaf in my left ear! As long as that comes back, I have to say it was worth it.

Vin Mazzaro gave up a run in the 1st but the Chasers scored on a double play in the 2nd, then added 2 in the 3rd on a David Lough 2-run shot (his 8th). One pitch undid Mazzaro as a 3-run homer in the 5th by CF Jermaine Mitchell made it 4-3 RiverCats. The Chasers scattered a few more hits but the last 7 went down in order. Omaha is 62-50. Edul Escobar hit an RBI forceout in the 10th and Cody Fassold pitched a quiet 10th to get his 2nd save. IF is 2-3. A 4-game set at the Casper Ghosts (4-1, Rookie Rockies) starts Friday. Anthony Howard hit his 1st Burlington homer in the 4th and a Justin Trapp RBI double was followed by a 2-run Antonio shot (his 6th) to make it 7-0. Ridings retired the last 12 he faced and the firm of Watts and Bonifacio hit sac flies in the 6th to make it 9-0. Kenny Swab singled in a run in the 7th to make the lead double digits.
