* Omaha outlasted the rain and the RiverCats to win the series finale Saturday. Jeff Suppan gave up 4 runs in the 2nd but Salvador Perez doubled in a run and Irving Falu hit an RBI groundout to cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning. Lorenzo Cain went deep for his 14th homer of the season to tie it in the 3rd and Perez came through with a 2-run go-ahead double. Sacramento got a run in the 7th but David Lough hit an RBI single in the bottom of the frame to keep the 2-run lead intact. After some late rain delays, Brandon Sisk came in to strand the bases loaded in the 8th and then pitched a scoreless 9th to pick up his 2nd save.

* A 6-run 2nd led Fresno past Omaha Sunday. Luis Mendoza and Clint Robinson committed errors in the 2nd and Fresno capitalized for 6 runs on 4 hits, a walk and hit batsman. David Lough ended the rally by helping gun down a runner at the plate, then came up in the 3rd and hit a 2-run single. Lorenzo Cain added an RBI groundout to cut the lead in half to 6-3. Robinson Tejeda gave up a solo shot in the 4th and Omaha stranded 2 in the 6th. The last 10 Chasers went down. Omaha is 63-52. Game 2 is Monday. Sean O'Sullivan will start.

* The Naturals came back from down 3 runs to get the win Sunday. Mario Lisson hit an RBI groundout in the 2nd but the Travelers tied it in the 4th. Wil Myers doubled and scored on a Ben Theriot single in the 4th. Mario Santiago gave up a 3-run homer in the 5th and Andrew Dobies gave up an RBI double in the 6th to make it 5-2. Nick Francis hit a 2-run homer (his 3rd) in the 6th, Derrick Robinson hit an RBI single, Anthony Seratelli hit a 2-run single and Francis came back up and singled in another run to make it 8-5 NWA. Blaine Hardy brought it home from there. NW Arkansas is 23-20. The series ends Monday. Will Smith will start.

* Lynchburg pummeled Rocks pitching for 12 hits in the easy win. John Whittleman hit an RBI single in the 1st and Tyler Sample stranded the bases full in his first inning of work. The Rocks left the bases loaded in the 4th and Lynchburg finally got it tied off Sample in the 4th. Allen Caldwell came in with 2 on and 0 out in the 6th and the Hillcats scored the go-ahead run to make it 2-1. The Rocks offense sputtered and Lynchburg scored again in the 7th, then plated 3 in the 8th. The Rocks stranded 2 in the 9th. Wilmington is 16-26. A 3-game home set with the Winston-Salem Dash (24-17, A-Adv. White Sox) starts Monday. Justin Marks will start.

* A 5-1 Cougar lead fell apart in the 6th. Jason Adam walked 2 to allow a run without the benefit of a Rattler hit in the 1st. Kane County matched it on a Brian Fletcher RBI single in the 1st. The Cougars surged ahead in the 2nd on a Jovan Pickett RBI single and Angel Franco RBI single. Fletcher socked a 2-run homer in the 5th for his 10th of the season and Adam handed the 5-1 lead to Mike Giovenco in the 6th. Before the inning was done, the Rattlers scored 5 runs and Alex Rivers was in the game. Wisconsin scored another run in the 7th, and Pickett tripled and scored on a Geulin Beltre groundout to cut the lead back to 1. KC stranded 2 in the 8th and then left the tying run at second in the 9th. KC is 25-17. Game 3 is Monday as Leondy Perez starts.

* The Chukars couldn't recover from 5 early Ghosts runs. Richard Espy hit an RBI groundout in the 1st but Brennon Martin was gouged for 4 runs on a grand slam by 1B Harold Riggins in the inning. A solo homer in the 2nd made it 5-1 Casper. IF stranded 2 in the 6th and Casper tacked on 2 runs off Spencer Patton to make it 7-1. Edul Escobar hit an RBI double in the 7th and Chris Elder did the same before scoring on a double play to cut it to 7-4. The Chukars got runners in both of the last 2 innings but made nothing of them.

* Casper blew open a close game in the 7th. The Chukars stranded 2 in the 3rd, and Casper took the lead with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning before leaving the bases full. Casper scored again off Kellen Moen in the 4th to make it 3-0. Ryan Jenkins went solo in the 7th for his 1st of the season but Robert Penny and Jose Sanchez allowed 5 runs in the 7th to make it 8-1. Mark Threlkeld tripled and scored on a Jenkins groundout in the 9th but a miracle rally wasn't in the cards. IF is 2-6. The series ends Monday.

* A 2-1 game in the middle innings turned into a Mets rout by game's end. Matt Murray followed up his 1-hit start with a decent outing, but gave up a 2-run homer in the 3rd to spot the Mets a 2-0 lead. Lane Adams took a bases-loaded hit by pitch in the 5th but Burlington left the bases full. Andrew Ferguson gave up 4 runs in the 6th and Abel Gonzalez came in to strand the bases full. Adams hit an RBI double in the 7th and Justin Trapp hit an RBI groundout to trim it to 6-3. Gonzalez gave up 2-run homers in the 8th and 9th and the Royals had no answer. Burlington is 17-29. The series ends with a Monday matinee.

* The Royals made the most of only 2 hits as three pitchers combined to shut out the Diamondbacks. Jerico Blanco hit a ground-rule double in the 5th and scored on a Travis Lane single. Stephen Lumpkins got a double play to escape a bases-loaded jam in the 5th and Cam Gallagher hit a sac fly in the 9th to add a little insurance. Max Morales loaded the bases with 1 out in the 9th but, like Lumpkins before him, got a lineout double play to finish it. The Royals are 16-22.
